FRIENDS OF THE COLUMBIA LIBRARY MEETING
Please join the Friends of the Columbia Library at meetings at 6:00 p.m. on the following Mondays: February 22, April 26, June 28, August 23, October 25, and December 27. STATE OF THE LIBRARY
On Saturday, February 13 at 10 a.m. or noon, hear what the Columbia Branch Library has in store for 2010 and share your ideas at a special State of the Library program at the Columbia Branch Library, 13824 W. River Rd., N., Columbia Station. Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Columbia Library, Inc. Call the Columbia Branch Library to RSVP at 440.236.8751.

CHANGE THE RECIPE TO HEALTHY
On Thursday, February 25 at 5:30 p.m., Linnette Goard, with OSU Lorain County Extension Office, will share ways to substitute ingredients or change cooking techniques to make common recipes healthier. Bring a recipe and find out how to modify it. Preregistration required by calling Columbia Branch Library at 440.236.8751.
Guests welcome! We also welcome enthusiastic volunteers. Membership applications are available online and at the library. Just think of all we could accomplish with your ideas and helping hands!
Funding for many library programs is raised through book sales and other events sponsored by the Friends, who help the library keep in touch with the community and its needs.
HOW TO DONATE BOOKS TO COLUMBIA LIBRARY
The Friends of the Columbia Library, Inc. invite you to drop off donated books at the Lorain Public Library System's Columbia Branch Library at 13824 West River Rd., N., Columbia Station for book sales. Please bring gently used books as well as children's books and videos, and hardbound and paperback books that are in good condition to the Columbia Branch Library when the library is open. Please keep in mind that no encyclopedias will be accepted. Book sales raises funds for library events, reading programs and services provided to library patrons.
