Whiz Kids of the Columbia Library

The Whiz Kids of the Columbia Library are kids and teens in the fifth grade and up who enjoy being involved in a variety of activities to help promote the library. In the past the group has sponsored bake sales, helped with the Fine Arts and Authors Fest, and created the Whiz Kids float for the annual Columbia Homecoming Parade in July. They have won first place for their floats for three years in a row. The Whiz Kids have purchased materials for the library with money they have earned. The group enjoys getting together, periodically, to “just have fun.” In 2008, the group will be updating their name, creating a newsletter and planning several special Whiz Kids events.

The Whiz Kidz of the Columbia Library are real winners!  They won cash prizes for (1) Best Children's Float; and (2) Best Float at the Columbia Homecoming Parade on Saturday, June 27, 2009.  Congratulations to this winning group of youngsters.
